Dr. Scott Mulder
Hello, my name is Scott Mulder. I am a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. I am originally from Chicago, Illinois and moved to Houston in 1995 after a successful career in the corporate world.
My zeal to become a Family Nurse Practitioner comes from a multitude of life experiences, after taking my first anatomy class I knew I was destined to be in the medical field. This desire was further strengthened by the birth of my children, the life-saving efforts of my wife’s obstetrician during an ectopic pregnancy, my niece born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, and the life-changing impact a doctor has on their patients and community. Additionally, I have found that passion toward any endeavor is contagious. My experiences, education and incessant discussions about medicine had a profound influence on my family. Terri, my wife, graduated from nursing school in 2003, and my three daughters – Christy is an Interventional Radiology technician, Nicole is a Houston Paramedic, and Elise works in home health.
In 1997 my career in business had grown to the point where pursuing a career in medicine seemed possible. I aggressively started to prepare, continually balancing academics with the demands of my job and never knowing whether my efforts would turn desire into reality. Finally, in May 2004 I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from the University of Houston-Downtown. Further preparation allowed me to attend Texas Woman’s University where I received both my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (2006) and Master’s Degree in Family Nurse Practitioner studies (2011). My persistence over the years speaks to my dedication and pursuit of this honorable career.
I eagerly look forward to giving you the very best of medical care.
